Alas, I didn’t get to the post I had hoped to do this evening, so here’s a film shot that’s been sitting in the backlog for a bit. This was taken at the 2017 El Paso County Fair. The fairgrounds are about 20 miles northeast of Colorado Springs, CO between Peyton and Ramah. Amanda and I spent quite a bit of time visiting the Colorado State Fair when we lived in Pueblo but there’s a charm to the more local nature of county fairs that I enjoy, too. I don’t know that we’ll be able to hold county and state fairs this year but I look forward to getting to know some of the local fairs in Illinois when we’re not in the midst of a pandemic.
